Bring California color and ecological value to sunny spaces with this native annual. Lupinus microcarpus var. densiflorus, also known as Golden Lupine, is an upright California wildflower. Flower plants reach about 24-36 inches tall and produce fragrant golden-yellow flower spikes from spring into early summer. These flowers seeds suit open fields, hillsides, wildflower meadows, borders, pollinator gardens, and restoration plantings. The blooms attract native bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. As a nitrogen-fixing legume, the yellow lupine plant can support soil fertility while growing, making it useful for soil improvement and green-manure plantings.
