Description
Please note Perfect Plants Tea Olive, does not SHIP TO CA or AZ. The Fragrant Tea Olive (Osmanthus fragrans), also known as Sweet Olive or Sweet Osmanthus, is a broadleaf evergreen shrub or small tree celebrated for its dense, lush foliage and an intensely sweet, citrus-like fragrance that will perfume your entire landscape. Its tiny creamy-white blooms may be small in size, but their impact is anything but. The scent is rich and sweetly fruity, reminiscent of apricot or peach, while others compare it to a gorgeous cross between gardenia and jasmine. In addition to their sweet fragrance, they flowers are a pollinator magnet! Attracting friendly garden pollinators like hummingbirds and butterflies. Bloom time begins in fall and, in many climates, continues throughout winter and into spring, delivering months of incredible fragrance at a time when little else in the garden is performing. The glossy dark green foliage stays lush and full year-round, providing reliable structure and beauty even between bloom cycles. With an upright, vase-shaped growth habit, this versatile plant reaches 10 to 12 feet tall and up to 8 feet wide at maturity, making it a natural fit as a specimen plant, fragrant privacy hedge, or decorative screen. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and adapts to a variety of soil types. Hardy in grow zones 8 through 11, it is equally at home in foundation plantings, mixed borders, and container gardens on patios or entryways where its signature scent can be enjoyed up close.
